Sloss Furnaces vs Blue Ridge Mountains

August 12, 2018  •  6 Comments

Sloss Furnaces is a National Historic Landmark in Birmingham, Alabama. It operated as a pig iron-producing blast furnace from 1882 to 1971.

Walking through this site and ducking around and under the steel branches reminded me of walking through nature.

Note the similarities to the above photo in this picture from the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina.

Really nice - love the color on the pipes ... and that tree inspires me to take some pix of the weaving, meandering trees around here.
Always a pleasure to see your work.
Best,
Reggie

LIKE: all that red in the sloss forest reminds me of the golden gate bridge in sf....

Fascinating combination, Harvey. Have you tried them in black and white, maybe infrared?
