metal staircase
Today's blog shows two departures for me. It is a black and white picture. The original is in color but the color is mostly grey metal and I felt the shot is made up mostly of lines in various directions and they are brought out more by the black and white. The second departure for me is this photo was shot with my cell phone. I recently bought a Samsung S8 which is reported to have the best camera on a phone. This is the first phone picture I have ever posted. If you are interested the location is the new Whitney Museum in Soho.

I agree with Ron, very interesting! All the lines & grating make a moiré optical illusion! The variations of gaps of in the grating make different shades of grey. Arrangements of geometric shapes. Then there is the "Human scene!" What is the woman doing sitting with her head down on the metal stairs? What is going on with her? The other person passing by? And the shoes in the bottom foreground! (That I can guess!) The B&W simplifies the image and make it more abstract. Wonderful!
