It is hard to believe that Central Park is completely man-made. The only thing in the park that was there before 1858 is the rocks. In this photo every rock has been placed in its position. Every tree has been planted. The water comes from the New York City water system. Even the soil that the trees are growing on was imported from New Jersey or Long Island.
